He was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Peru, to James F. and Leah Warren Wright. On Sept. 28, 1957, at the Methodist Church, Pierceton, he married Sondra Cook, who survives.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County residing in the Pierceton area. He attended First Baptist Church, Pierceton.
He worked at Zimmer USA for 27 years as a tool and die maker, retiring in 1997. He was a Cub Master and Assistant Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts in Pierceton. He enjoyed his service to the community being involved with the Boy Scouts and coaching Little League. He enjoyed camping and canoeing with his family, a tradition that the family continues today. After retirement, he also enjoyed spending winters with his wife at Fort Myers, Fla. While in Florida, he would enjoy being out on the sea, deep sea fishing.
Also surviving are a son, Kenneth II (and spouse Brenda) Wright, Warsaw; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Wright, Warsaw; two granddaughters, Julia Wright and Staci (and spouse Thomas) Young, all of Warsaw; two grandsons, Kyle Wright, Warsaw, and Stephen Wright, St. Paul, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Lillie Wright, North Webster; a brother-in-law, Paul Arnold, Constantine, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Wright; a great-grandchild, Adrienne Lynae Young; a brother, James Wright; and two sisters, Jean Jensen and Phyllis Arnold.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, officiated by Dr. Mark Fishburn of First Baptist Church, Pierceton. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
