NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio – Kenneth J. “Jerry” Turner, 78, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and formerly of Warsaw, died April 29, 2011, in New Life Hospice Residential Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
He was born in Tell City to Cy and Dorothy Nice Turner. He married Judy Irons, who survives.
He was raised in Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-54, during the Korean War, and was discharged as a staff sergeant. After service, he attended Indiana University, graduating in 1958 with a degree in political science. He served as a personnel officer in the U.S. Civil Service for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion, Elyria.
Also surviving are three sons: Cy (and spouse Lori), Exeter, Calif.; Roy (and spouse Kathi), Lakewood; and Matt, Chillicothe; a daughter, Cheri (and spouse Steve) Mace, North Ridgeville; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at David Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, with Pastor Bobby Blackburn officiating, Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
