The eldest of four children, he was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Warsaw, to Maurice and Cathern Blue Dunnuck. For 62 years, he was married to June Weiger Dunnuck, who preceded him in death.
After proudly serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, he received a degree in education at Indiana University. He taught math and chemistry for two years before becoming a high school principal for 25 years. He continued to work as a substitute teacher in the Jackson area for 27 years after his retirement and served as an administrator in a small parochial school in Bloomington.
He attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Clark Lake, where he also taught at the Christian School.
He is survived by his four children: Daniel (and spouse Nancy) Dunnuck, Paul (and spouse Beth) Dunnuck, Linda Carrothers and David (and spouse Kathy) Dunnuck; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as many loving family members and friends. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Ortiz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Daniel White officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Hillcrest Memorial Park with military honors.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
