SYRACUSE - Kenneth D. "Kenny" Moser, 82, of Syracuse, died at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 1, 2008, in his residence.

He was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Vera Cruz, to Albert and Nellie Heininger Moser. On Dec. 5, 1981, he married Norma Kaufman Leer, who survives.

Moving to this area from Bluffton in 1967, he was former owner of Moser & Sons Heating and Air Conditioning, Bluffton, and Backwater Grocery, North Webster, and most recently worked at Commodore Homes, Syracuse. He was a volunteer fireman in Bluffton. He was a 60-year member of North Webster American Legion Post 253; a life member and past commander of Syracuse Veterans of Foreign Wars 1342; and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 3760, Syracuse, and Moose Lodge, Bluffton. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre.

Also surviving are two sons, Terry L. Moser, Syracuse, and Timothy W. (and spouse Dair) Moser, Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Tonia L. Barnhart and Jody M. Moser, both of Syracuse, and Judy K. Johnson, Angola; a stepson, Randy Leer, Nebraska; a brother, Frank D. (and spouse Norma) Moser, Bluffton; two sisters, Betty (and spouse Leon) Mann and Phyllis (and spouse Virgil) Swartz, Bluffton; two grandchildren; and a step-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Toby A. Moser.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, with military honors by members of North Webster American Legion and Syracuse VFW. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.

Calling is from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
