Updates were given from the KEDC's marketing, infrastructure and retention committees during Wednesday's meeting.
The group talked about developing a business incubator for the county.
Kim Nance, the acting director for KEDC, discussed how work continues on bringing new businesses to the county.
Nance detailed work with two companies in particular though specific information about the companies wasn't discussed.
Nance also said the former KDI website can be accessed at www.kosciuskoedc.com though not all mentions of KDI have been taken off.
The board of directors gave Nance permission to have a booth at an orthopedic conference Sept. 21-22.
The board also approved an allocation of $1,000 to spend toward materials for the conference.
President Max Courtney explained that KEDC is a 506-C-3, which is a not-for-profit that can lobby.
Courtney said the KEDC should get a lobbying committee together.
A trip by members of KEDC to Flagship Enterprise in Anderson was recounted.
The KEDC also approved the minutes from its April 28 meeting, as well as the financial report and a compilation put together by the accounting firm of Himes & Krull.
KEDC's next board of directors meeting will be Oct. 27.[[In-content Ad]]
