Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers is celebrating Indiana Extension Homemakers Association  week with “Achievement Night” Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Atwood Community Building.

There will be a salad bar “carry in.”  Clubs whose names begin with the letter A-H are asked to bring a dessert and clubs starting with the letter J-Z are asked to bring salads. Each club is asked to decorate and bring a pumpkin, which will be given to area nursing homes.

Merry Tones Club is in charge of the program.

The Holiday Program will be at the Home and Family Arts Building at the fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Oct. 24. The theme is “Easy Budget Holiday Ideas.”

Atwood Home Study Club is in charge.  A quiche and salad lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the cost of $5. Call the extension office at 547-372-2340 before Wednesday if you plan to attend.

IEHA Week will continue by displaying the dolls from the 1963 era at the Old Jail Museum now through the end of November.

These dolls were clothed in the garb of countries of the world by more than 60 different Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers Clubs. Cleora Cauffman was county president. Extension agent was Ruth McCleary. They were first exhibited at the Kosciusko County Fair in 1963.

Second exhibit was at Purdue for World Area Meeting. They plan to have these on display at the fair next year as they celebrate their 100th anniversary.

Important information has been lost, so if you remember anything about these dolls, please share. You may call Deanna Myers, county president, at 574-267-6334.
