She was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Adair County, Ky., to Jesse P. and Tina Burton Powell. On April 27, 1947, in Harrisburg, Pa., she married Clair Miller, who survives.
She was a 1940 graduate of Messiah Academy, Grantham, Pa. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she was a clerk at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, for 18 years, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. She was a volunteer at Encompass World Partners, formerly known as Grace Brethren Foreign Mission, and also for Christian Education National. She loved to garden and can.
Also surviving are four sons: Clair F. “Chip” (and spouse Shelley) Miller, Quincy, Ill.; Kenneth V. (and spouse Jody) Miller, Bunker Hill; and Stephen (and spouse Lee) Miller and Randy (and spouse Deb) Miller, all of Warsaw; a daughter, Brenda (and spouse Bradley) Green, Mishawaka; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Alexander, Columbia, Ky. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Ed, Jo and Wood Powell; and four sisters: Nellie Bailey, Fannie Corbin, Ruth Bryant and Lena McQueary.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
