She was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Syracuse, to Jonas Russell and Mary A. Droke Kistler. On March 14, 1951, in Crewe, Va., she married Omer E. Yoder, who survives.
A lifetime Kosciusko County area resident, she attended Syracuse Public Schools and was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church, Barbee Lake. She was a homemaker and retired in 2001 as a dietary aid at Goshen General Hospital.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kathy Johnson, Goshen, and Marijane (and spouse Elbert) Campbell, Hiddenite, N.C.; a son, Omer “Gene” (and spouse Lisa) Yoder, New Paris; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Melcher, Poteet, Texas; and two brothers, Nelson (and spouse Jean) Kistler, Milford, and George (and spouse Linda) Kistler, Auburn. She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson and two brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Open Bible Church, Warsaw, (Barbee), with Pastor Sam Carns officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, and one half hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
