Juvenile Faces Burglary, Theft Charges

The Warsaw Police Department responded to an alarm at the Speedway gas station, 823 E. Winona Ave., at 1:38 a.m. today. The front door had been pried open and approximately $200 in cigarettes was stolen.
Officers, using K-9 units, tracked the suspect to a home in the 900 block of East Market Street. Once there, officers found a 16-year-old boy at home without parental supervision.
After being interviewed both at home and at WPD, the youth admitted his involvement. He was released to a parent.
Juvenile charges of burglary and theft were referred to the Kosciusko County prosecutor and probation department. The 16-year-old was found to be currently on juvenile probation for a prior unrelated burglary and theft.
