With the pervasive news coverage of America's financial turmoil, children may have questions about what is going on in our economy.

How can young people get the financial knowledge that they so desperately need? Fortunately, there are organizations who are answering the call to educate the next generation of consumers about how to effectively manage their money.

Junior Achievement serving Kosciusko County Board of Directors provided the JA BizTown experiential learning program to Jefferson Elementary School and Sacred Heart with additional support from Symmetry Medical, Paragon Medical, Farmers State Bank and DePuy on Jan. 23.[[In-content Ad]]JA BizTown gives students across northern Indiana in grades four through six the opportunity to run banks, manage restaurants, read utility meters, write checks, and even vote as they experience JA BizTown, Junior Achievement's Elementary School Capstone Program. This program combines in-class learning followed by a day-long visit to JA BizTown. A fully interactive, true-to-life simulated town where students learn the fundamental relationship between academics and life beyond school.
