She was born May 27, 1944, in Chicago, to Louis and Erma Kollaritsch Miklos. On May 26, 1962, in Merrillville, she married Dennis O. O’Brien, who preceded her in death in 1992 after 30 years.
She graduated in 1962 from Merrillville High School. She was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker when her children were home. She later was the co-owner and operator, along with her companion Michael Pavlick, of the Buckhorn Bar & Grill, Windfall. She moved to the Warsaw (Barbee Lake) area 13 years ago from Windfall and formerly lived in Dunkirk.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 223, Syracuse; former member of American Legion Auxiliary, North Webster; and Elks Lodge, Portland, and formerly attended the United Methodist Church, Redkey.
Surviving are a daughter, Shari (and spouse Jeff) Dalton, Hastings, Mich.; two sons, Jerry O’Brien, Ashely, and Kerry O’Brien, Indianapolis; a companion, Michael Pavlick, Warsaw; three stepdaughters: Michelle (and spouse David) Sites, Marion; Denise Pavlick and Mary Beth (and spouse Richard) Simpson, all of Glen Rose, Texas; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with Pastor Rick Cockman, of the Corporate Chaplains of America, officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
