She was born June 13, 1927, in Warsaw, to Delmar and Wanda Tompkins Evans. On July 5, 1945, in Leesburg, she married Stephen Osbun, who died Sept. 4, 1965.
She was a lifetime Warsaw resident. She was a homemaker, and she worked at Harvey’s Dime Store and was a greeter at Walmart.
She was a member of the Warsaw Order of the Eastern Star, St. Anne’s Episcopal Church and The Salvation Army Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking and cooking – she was proud of her 4-H Fair championship apple pies – and was a good friend to many as she never knew a stranger. She was “mom” or “grandma” to many of the staff at Mason’s; even those who no longer worked at Mason’s would come back to visit her if they heard she was not feeling well. She loved living at Retired Tigers and especially loved living at Mason’s. She was a good mom, who loved her grandchildren, and she was a wonderful sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy (and spouse Larry) Fisher, Leo, and Pamela (and spouse John) Lehman, both of Warsaw; three sons: Stephen (and spouse Chong) Osbun, Temecula, Calif.; Mark Osbun, Knox; and Jim (and spouse Connie) Young, Montgomery; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two step-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Havlin, Knox. She also was preceded in death by four brothers: the Rev. Larry Evans, who died June 24, 2005; Earl C. Evans, who died May 13, 2002; Samuel H. Evans, who died Nov. 6, 1979; and infant Eugene Evans; and a sister, Mary L. Young, who died Oct. 29, 2010.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, with the Rev. Corinne Hodges, St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
