NORTH MANCHESTER – Josephine Bumgardner Jackson, 88, of North Manchester, died at 12:12 a.m. Feb. 16, 2013, in Wabash County Hospital.
She was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Kewanee, Pike County, Ky., to Robert and Virgie Ray Justice. On May 29, 1945, she married F. Monroe Bumgardner, who died May 24, 1986. On Jan. 23, 1988, she married Clint Jackson, who died June 15, 2008.
She was a homemaker and worked at Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, for 27 years, first on the sewing line and later as a night supervisor. She was a avid collector of dolls and enjoyed watching TV with her special canine friend, Mattie.
Surviving are a son, George (and spouse Kathy) Bumgardner, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Virginia (and spouse Herbert) Gunter and Sheila (and spouse Randy) Frederick, all of North Manchester; two stepsons,  Roger Douglas, Fort Wayne, and Timothy (and spouse Kathy) Jackson, Laketon; two stepdaughters, Glenda (and spouse Richard) Short, Virginia, and Sharon (and spouse Darrell) Hopkins, North Manchester; a sister, Jacqueline Hamilton, Wellston, Ohio; three grandchildren: Jeffrey (and spouse Jennifer) Gunter, Eyota, Minn.; Michelle (and spouse Randy) Glover, North Manchester; and Kimberly Frederick, Huntington; 15 step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Palma Rose Bumgardner, who died in 1945; a grandson, Jeremy Layne Gunter, who died in 2008; three brothers; five sisters; a stepson; and a step-granddaughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Entombment will be in Johnson Memorial Mausoleum, Pikeville, Ky.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.
Additional calling and services will be at J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home, Pikeville.
