T.R. and Louise Decker were married June 20, 1953, in Hickman, Ky.
Both grew up on farms in western Kentucky and moved to Mentone in 1969.
T.R. served overseas in World War II and became a minister in 1949. Although now retired from ministry, at 95, T.R. still preaches occasionally and teaches a Bible class on Sundays. A farmer at heart, he has shared his harvest with many neighbors and family.
Louise is a retired school teacher. In addition to teaching elementary school and Sunday school, she has also enjoyed oil painting, sewing and being a homemaker over the years.
They are a wonderful source of inspiration and love their family. Their love and devotion to God has set an example for their family for many generations to come.
They have seven children: James T. (and spouse Teresa) Jones, Brookston; Lee Ann Jones (and spouse Jim) Lamb, Zionsville; and Kent (and spouse Kandi) Jones, Warsaw; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The couple will celebrate with friends and family Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Mentone Community Center, 101 W. Main St. Mentone.[[In-content Ad]]
