NAPPANEE - Jon A. Lipply, 64, of 11160 Manor Drive, Plymouth, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 1:30 p.m. March 20, 2011, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, where he was a patient since Wednesday.

He was born Oct. 4, 1946, in Warsaw, to Zeldon Lipply and Betty Taylor. On June 25, 2005, he married Linda Brink, who survives.

A lifetime Nappanee area resident, he was a Milford High School graduate and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He worked at Mutschler Brothers, Nappanee, for more than 30 years and retired from Nappanee Wood Products. He was a member Nappanee American Legion and Bremen Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Also surviving are a daughter, Shelly (and spouse Kip) Dlemer, Nappanee; two stepsons, Shawn Chain, Bloomington, and Eric (and spouse Shay) Chain, Clarksville, Tenn., currently serving in Afghanistan; a grandson; four step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; two sisters, Lynda (and spouse Larry) Meadows, Wimauma, Fla., and Jean (and spouse Jack) Briggs, Pueblo, Colo.; and two brothers, Dave (and spouse Deb) Hollar, Syracuse, and Bugs (and spouse Donna) Hollar, Milford. He was preceded in death his parents, his stepfather and a grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery with military graveside services by members of Nappanee American Legion.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
