He was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Kosciusko County, to George Walter and Effie Armstrong Bolinger. On March 14, 1942, in Kosciusko County, he married Ethel A. Sensibaugh, who survives in Atwood.
A lifetime Atwood resident, he worked at Atwood-Etna Green Elevator for 20 years and retired from Osborn Manufacturing, Warsaw, after 19 years. He was a former Atwood Fire Dept. volunteer firefighter and a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1942-45, as an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Technician Fifth Grade. He was a member of Atwood Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Melodie A. (and spouse Jim) Thomas, Atwood, and Vicki S. (and spouse Junior) Howard, Burket; a son, Dale W. "Termite" Bolinger, Atwood; four grandchildren: Amy (and spouse Scott) Curtis, Culver; Alan Stackhouse, Claypool; Charles (and spouse Samantha) Howard, Silver Lake; and Holly Howard (and spouse Dave Ousley), Pierceton; six great-grandchildren: Vance and Cameron Curtis, both of Plymouth; Ean and Aric Howard, both of Silver Lake; and Ryanne and Karrie Ousley, both of Pierceton.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harrison Center Cemetery, Atwood, with Chaplain Tom Everett of American Legion Post 49, officiating, and with a military graveside service by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1126.
Calling will be private.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
