NORTH WEBSTER – John William “Jack” Jacobs, 88, North Webster, passed away July 9, 2015, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Walter R. and Bertha E. Montgomery Jacobs. On April 7, 1949, in Alexandria, he married Nina L. Cunningham, who survives in North Webster.
He attended Alexandria High School, Indiana University and he was a United States Navy veteran. He retired in 1983 from General Motors in Anderson as a crib attendant after 37 years. He moved to the North Webster area from Alexandria permanently in 1983 after spending summers in North Webster since 1967.
He was a member of North Webster Church of God, American Legion Post 253, North Webster, and former member of the American Legion in Frankton.
Also surviving are: one daughter, Rhonda (and Danny Anderson) Jacobs, Nashville; two sons, John C. (and spouse Diane) Jacobs, Alexandria, and Douglas W. (and spouse Peggy) Jacobs, Noblesville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Richard, Walter, Charles and James Jacobs.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of God, 300 N. Main St., North Webster, with Todd Oesch of the church officiating. Cremation is in Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Military graveside rites will be at 1 p.m. July 18 in Parkview Cemetery, 1101 S. Park Ave., Alexandria.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster.
