John W. Holman, 73, of Warsaw, died at 3 p.m. March 20, 2009, in his residence.

He was born Oct. 14, 1935, in Lepanto, Ark., to E.F. and Rose Stogsdill Holman. On March 31, 1958, in Mt. Clemens, Mich., he married Florence M. Geisler, who survives.

Moving to Warsaw from Mt. Clemens 39 years ago, he was an inspector at Zimmer Inc. for 26 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pierceton. He entered the U.S. Air Force on Feb. 13, 1956, in St. Louis, Mo., and was honorably discharged on Feb. 12, 1960, at Selfridge Air Force Base, Mt. Clemens.

Also surviving are a son, Robert J. (and spouse Vicky) Holman, Elkhart; a daughter, Pamela Ann (and spouse Brandon) Reed, North Webster; a grandson, Ryan Holman; and granddaughter, Emma Holman; and three sisters, Jane and Catherine Holman, both of St. Louis, and Mattie (and spouse John) Gustafson, Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy L. Holman, who died June 20, 1991; a brother, Lee Holman, who died in 1986; a sister, Lucille Pelts, who died in 2004; and his parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by the Rev. Mark Fishburn of First Baptist Church, Pierceton, and with military honors by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
