BRISTOL – John P. “Jack” Hostetter, 75, Bristol, passed away Dec. 29, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 20, 1938, in Elkhart, to Charles and Iva Forker Hostetter. On Jan. 5, 1958, in Goshen, he married Phyllis A. Myers, who survives.
He retired as plant manager from Elkhart County Gravel. He was a member of Bristol United Methodist Church. He belonged to Nutones, South Bend, and enjoyed fishing and working on his 1930 Model A. He loved to help his friends and spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three daughters, Debra (and spouse Randy) Oswald, Candy Elrod, both of Bristol, and Cindy (and spouse Stacey) Jackson, Syracuse; a son, Ron Hostetter, Michigan; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas (and spouse Jackie) Hostetter, Middlebury, and Richard “Bruce” Hostetter, Elkhart; and two sisters, Sherry Vannoty, Elkhart, and Mary Lou Fair, Vandalia, Mich. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Bourn and Frances Fair; and a brother, Charles Hostetter.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Bristol United Methodist Church with Pastor Fred Stayton officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol, at a later date.
Calling is from 3 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.
Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
