VAN WERT, Ohio - John O. Myers, 75, of Silver Lake, and formerly of Van Wert, Ohio, died at 12:45 p.m. Oct. 27, 2009, in Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Dec. 3, 1933, in Grover Hill, Ohio, to Fred F. and Camilla Smalley Myers. On March 17, 1978, he married Constance A. Myers, who died Jan. 31, 2009.

He retired from B.F. Goodrich, Woodburn, as a forklift driver. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, North Manchester, and Van Wert American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving is a stepchild, Donald R. Jenkins, Silver Lake. He was preceded in death by two stepchildren, two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, North Manchester, with the Revs. Andrew Gathany and Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio, with a military graveside service by members of Van Wert American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
