John Lewis Lloyd, 70, Fort Myers, Fla., and Warsaw, went to be with the Lord May 23, 2016, at his home in Warsaw. He had been in failing health for some time.
He was born Sept. 4, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minn., where he spent his formative years pursuing a career of sales and marketing. On June 1, 1991, he married his wife Donna, who survives, and in 1997 they both began their second careers in foreign missions.
They served in Tanzania, East Africa; Uzbekistan, Istanbul, Turkey and many short-term missions before returning to the United States to local ministry. He had a passion for sharing God’s word through teaching, discipling and developing teaching material for the gospel’s sake. He never tired of sharing Christ, especially to those dear souls at Villa Palms Retirement Home. He loved fishing and he loved his grandchildren and taught them all how to fish. He loved and was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn and Shelby (and spouse Mike) Naibauer; two stepsons, Doug and Matt (and spouse Cara) Smith; his honorary daughter, Christine Wicker; nine grandchildren: Callie, Sasha, Courtney, Cody, Chase, Bailey, Derrick, Kendall and Kami; a great-grandson, Chance; as well as his siblings Barbara (and spouse Lloyd) Nelson, Virginia (and spouse Dean) Winslow, William Lloyd and Randall (and spouse Toni) Lloyd.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. June 11 at Christ Covenant Church.
Calling is one hour prior and one hour after the service.

Memorials will be directed to foreign/local missions as determined by family. Contributors will be notified of the distributions.[[In-content Ad]]
