John Judson Bumbaugh, 77, of Warsaw, died at 2:55 a.m. March 15, 2009, in Grace Village Assisted Living, Winona Lake.

He was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Warsaw, to Girard Milton and Ethel F. Deerwester Bumbaugh. On March 22, 1952, in Warsaw, he married Dorothy Arnold, who died Nov. 20, 1993. On Nov. 25, 1994, in Warsaw, he married Gretchen Seiffert Watkins, who survives.

A lifetime Warsaw resident, he was a truck driver for TMX, Chicago, and Case Carriage, Celina, Ohio, for 45 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Warsaw American Legion Post 49. He entered the U.S. Army on July 7, 1952, in Indianapolis, serving in the Signal Corp during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as Cpl. John Judson Bumbaugh on April 23, 1954, in Fort Sheridan, Ill.

He was blessed with two families in his lifetime.

Also surviving are three sons: Jon (and spouse Carolyn) Bumbaugh, Houston, Texas; Alan Bumbaugh, Concord, N.H.; and Dan (and spouse Sally) Bumbaugh, Bloomington; two daughters, Karen (and spouse Dan) Hansen, San Jacinto, Calif., and Brenda Brown, Clunette; three stepsons: Steven (and spouse Donna) Watkins, Boulder, Colo.; Stuart (and spouse Julie) Watkins, Claypool; and Sterling (and spouse Sarah) Watkins, Warsaw; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Joan Phillips, Oakdale, La., and Lois Franklin, Kalispel, Mont.; and a brother, Barney (and spouse Dorothy) Bumbaugh, North Manchester. He was preceded in death by a sister, Juarine Choicej, and two brothers, Gordy and Max Bumbaugh.

No services or calling are planned. Burial will be at a later date in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
