He was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Edward and Mae Kerner Jarecki. On Sept. 10, 1955, in Indianapolis, he married Marcella M. Chandler, who survives.
Living in Warsaw for the past 42 years, he was senior vice president at Lake City Bank, retiring in 1995, and worked at Indiana National Bank, Indianapolis, from 1950-61. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1951-53, during the Korean War. He was an avid runner and swimmer, participating in countless races. He graduated from Fordson High School, Dearborn, Mich., in 1948, and Indiana Central College in 1963, and attended the University of Wisconsin School of Banking. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Morning Optimist Club and American Legion Post 49, all in Warsaw. He was involved in many community organizations. Most recently he acted as secretary of the Meadows Woodland Grove Condo Association, Sarasota, Fla., where he and his wife wintered for the past 12 years. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, sense of humor and his colorful collection of jokes.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Green (Tim Leiter), Leesburg, and Mrs. Marc (Pam) Jarecki-Vosler, Warsaw; and two grandchildren, Karrin Ransbottom and Max Jarecki-Vosler, both of Warsaw.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials to Warsaw Morning Optimist Club, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Goshen Center of Cancer Care.
