ARGOS – John Herbert Fear Sr., 75, of 7988 Ind. 10, Argos, died at 6:29 a.m. Feb. 25, 2012, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following a brief illness.

He was born Feb. 19, 1937, in Argos, to Thurl J. and  Elnora Mechling Fear. On Nov. 7, 1981, in Plymouth, he married Malva I. LaVanway, who survives.

He was a machinist at Zimmers, Warsaw, for 16 years, retiring in 1993, and was a member of Rochester Moose Lodge 1107.

Also surviving are two sons, including Michael (and spouse Annie) Fear, Tippecanoe; four daughters; 32 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother; and a sister. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with the Rev. Ron Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
