John E. Cox, 91, went to Heaven at 4:42 a.m. April 16, 2016. in his residence.
He was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Logansport, to Neal and Goldie Sturgeon Cox. On March 28, 1945, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Richardson, who survives in Warsaw. They had 71 wonderful years together.
He was a graduate of Bourbon High School, Class of 1944.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1944. He served 20 months with the 263rd Infantry Regiment in the European Theater and also held a military driver’s permit. He was honorably discharged in June 1946. He then worked on the railroad in his early life. He worked at Arnold Corp. for many years and then worked for Zimmer Inc. until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed his close family, especially the children. He enjoyed driving his wife to the store and out to eat.
He also is survived by two loving daughters, Sharon (and spouse Franklin R.) Jones and Carol (and spouse Walker) Meredith, all of Warsaw; grandchildren: Nicole (and spouse Gabriel) Gonzalez and Melinda (and spouse Troy) Aranda, all of San Antonio, Texas; Jonathan (and spouse Nicolette) Meredith, Warsaw; Carley (and spouse Tyler) Wetzel, Leesburg; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher Meredith, Ireland Aranda, Khloe Gonzalez and Ameila Wetzel.
There is no service planned.
