John C. "Jack" Liptow, 68, died at 9:35 p.m. May 14, 2009, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born March 21, 1941, in Anderson, to John T. and Martha C. Wilson Liptow. On June 30, 1990, in Palestine, he married Betty J. Robb, who survives.

He was a machinist at Delco Remy, Anderson for 17 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Anderson, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a big Colts fan and was restoring a 1949 Chevy. He was a resident of Diamond Lake since moving from Anderson in 1984.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sherri (and spouse David) Liptow Maupin, Silver Lake; two sons, Mike (and spouse JoAnn) Liptow-Ball, Warsaw, and Joe (and spouse Lena) Liptow-Ball, Burket; a stepson, John Parker, Silver Lake; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters; Pat Schoettmer, Silver Lake; Betty (and spouse John) Richardson, Chesterfield; Donna Mahla, Anderson; a brother, Larry (and spouse Sharon) Liptow, Anderson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, Anderson, with Father Bob Williams, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Anderson, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw and Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, Anderson.
