NORTH MANCHESTER - Joe F. Watson, 94, of North Manchester, died at 3:50 p.m. April 15, 2007, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born May 25, 1912, in Wabash County, to Sherman and Hazel Heeter Watson. On May 14, 1933, he married Dorothy Tschantz, who died Feb. 14, 1991. On April 17, 1994, he married Dorothy Blickenstaff, who survives.

Following his retirement from active farming, he drove the senior citizens mini-van in North Manchester. During those years, he also worked on the Bob Hoover farm. He graduated from Chester High School in 1930 and was a lifelong Wabash County resident. He was a member of Collamer Church of God, and served on many boards at the local and state level, including the Bear Lake Church Camp Board, Manchester Community School Board for 12 years, REMC Board for eight years, Gideon's International and the Huntington Mutual Insurance Board. He was the grand marshal for Fun Fest in 1992.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Janet Carolyn) Magsig, Dansville, Mich., and Mrs. David (Sally Jo) Green, Plymouth; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert (Joy) Stiffler, North Manchester; three stepsons: Jay Warner, North Manchester; Joe Warner, South Bend; and Jan Warner, Plymouth; a brother, Karl Watson, Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Tom Coltrain officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
