Joe Earl Spangle, 91, a lifetime Kosciusko County resident, died June 21, 2007, in Peabody Retirement Center, North Manchester.

He was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Silver Lake, to Earl and Elsie Irvin Spangle. On April 20, 1934, he married Lena Gunter, who survives.

He was a retired farmer and a truck driver for Miller & Sons Lumber Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1977.

Also surviving are six sons, Duane and Eldon Spangle, both of Claypool; John Spangle, Argos; and Ralph, Michael and Dwight Spangle, all of Warsaw; three daughters, Mrs. Delbert (Shirley) Hudson, Solsberry; Mrs. Roger (Judy) Weaver, Indianapolis; and Mrs. Perk (Cathy) Persinger, Kingston, Ohio; 42 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, three sisters and seven brothers.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Russell Dean Spangle officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
