Joe David Shepherd, 73, Warsaw,  passed away at 2:45 p.m. Feb. 29, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born June 1, 1942, in New London, Ohio, to Joe and Opal Boyde Shepherd.
He was a 1960 graduate of Mentone High School. He then served in the National Guard for six years and was honorably discharged in 1968. He worked as a roll tender at R.R. Donnelley, Warsaw, retiring in 1998, and for a number of years prior he worked at DaLite Screen in Warsaw. He loved the great outdoors, fishing and hunting, he also loved NASCAR and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr.  Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his four sons:  David (and spouse Michelle) Shepherd, Romania; Danny (and spouse Lisa) Shepherd, Sydney; Matt Goble, Warsaw; and Jason (and spouse Marie) Goble, Claypool; two daughters, Billie (and spouse Doug) Myers, Larwill, and Tabatha (and spouse Clarence) McAfoose, North Manchester; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers: Gary (and spouse Kay) Shepherd, South Carolina; Dick (and spouse Mona) Shepherd, North Manchester; and Karl (and spouse Mary Lou) Shepherd and Kenny Shepherd, all of Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Burial will take place at Palestine Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126, both of Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service Friday.
