He was born June 24, 1937, in San Diego, Calif., to Leonard E. and Jessie May Small Stouder. On July 7, 1954, in Elkhart, he married Fran Campbell, who survives.
Living in Nappanee since 1947, he was a retired truck driver and dispatcher. He helped found Nappanee Storm Watchers, helped organize Whiskerville Truckers, Nappanee, and was a former state commander of the Father's Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars 6638.
Also surviving are three sons: Robert (and spouse Karla) Stouder, Nappanee; Joseph D. (and spouse Dorothy) Stouder, Marysville, Wash.; and William (and spouse Rose) Stouder, Arden, N.C.; a daughter, Terry (and spouse Harve) Graber, Milford; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Stouder, Nappanee, and Robert (and spouse Linda) Stouder, New Carlisle; and a sister, Becky (and spouse Roger) Reaker, Nappanee.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
