She was born March 27, 1928, in Whitley County, the daughter of Oren E. and Fern Kyler Sroufe. She married Russell Brandenburg, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 2, 1988, at Merriam Christian Chapel, she married Leon Paulus, who preceded her in death.
She lived in Whitley County her entire life, and graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1947. She worked for Whitley Products for more than 20 years and Essex for 15 years. She was a member of Columbia City Community Bible Church, Eagles Lodge #1906 and Moose Lodge, both of Columbia City, American Legion #258 at Pierceton and VFW in Columbia City.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy (and spouse Lois) Brandenburg, Columbia City; two daughters, Glenda Ervin, Claypool, and Karen Wildey, Greenwood; a step-daughter, Cheryl Merrit, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Bill Sroufe; and a sister, Betty Webster.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with the Rev. John Cummings officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Cemetery.
Calling will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with an Eagles Service at 6:30 p.m.
