She was born June 29, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the Rev. Ross and Mary Stone Noffsinger. On Aug. 9, 1964, at Union Center Church of the Brethren, she married Larry Andrews, who survives.
Moving to Nappanee from Springfield, Ohio, in 1958, she graduated from Nappanee High School in 1962; earned an associate's degree in Bible from World Harvest Bible College; and earned a degree in organizational management from Bethel College. She was a minister at the former Ark Church, Nappanee, and was the founder of Family Christian Development Center. She joined forces with local doctors to offer free Baby Well checkups and shots and partnered with local pharmacies and directly with major drug companies to provide free prescription medications. She partnered with family and marriage counselor Mike Aemmer to co-found Aim Straight Marriage & Families to counsel FCDC clients. She was instrumental in the Pleasant Acres development in Nappanee as well as the renovation of the former Central School buildings. Partnering with the City of Nappanee, they secured grants for the senior housing section of the building. She worked with Habitat for Humanity and the Harrison Ridge project. She retired from FCDC in 2006. While at FCDC she started the center's Christmas Jubilee. She served on the board of directors of the office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives for the state of Indiana, was named executive director of the year for United Way, Elkhart County, in 2007, and in 2006, under her leadership, FCDC received the Indiana Achievement Sustainability Award. She attended Nappanee Missionary Church and was active in Servant's Heart Small Church.
Also surviving are a son, Jon (and spouse Alison) Andrews, Wakarusa; two daughters, Jennifer (and spouse Ty) Martin and Janelle (and spouse Carl) Salinas, all of Nappanee; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Ted (and spouse Sue) Noffsinger, Elkhart, and Stan (and spouse Debbie) Noffsinger, Elgin, Ill.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nappanee Missionary Church with Stan Noffsinger and Jon Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Union Center East Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
