NORTH WEBSTER – Joan L. Gudas, 74, Leesburg, passed away at 12:28 p.m. Nov. 6, 2014, at I.U. Goshen Hospital, Goshen. She was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Fort Wayne, to William Raymond and Hulda S. Volmerding Leedy. On April 8, 1961, in Fort Wayne, she married Wayne Edward Williams, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1991. On April 19, 1996, in Fort Wayne, she married Joseph L. “Joe” Gudas Jr. who preceded her in death on March 12, 2014. She graduated in 1958 from North Side High School in Fort Wayne and attended IPFW in Fort Wayne. She formerly worked at Fort Wayne Community Schools as a special education aide for 20 years and at the Sturgis Iron and Metal Scrap in Fort Wayne. She moved to the Leesburg area permanently in 2003 from Fort Wayne after coming to the lakes for many years. She was a member of the North Webster Church of God, American Legion Post 253 Auxiliary in North Webster and Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority. Surviving are two sons, Thomas (and spouse Janice) Williams, Pierceton, and Michael (and spouse Carol) Williams, Leesburg; a grandson, five step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter. She also was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clyde Leedy. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel, 6600 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne. Calling will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. ***** Memorial bequests may be given to Joan Gudas Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 72, North Webster, IN 46555.
