ELKHART - Jimmie Lee "Jim" Eberly, 70, of 53652 Spring Mill Drive, Elkhart, died at 4:30 a.m. Jan. 19, 2008, in Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1937, in Warsaw, to Glen E. and Creo "Bonnie" Mock Eberly. On March 15, 1959, he married Patty, who died in 1995. On June 5, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Nancy L. Beery Coryn, who survives.

He was an electronics technician for Mock's TV for many years and Elkhart Community School System for nearly 23 years, retiring in 2002. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a past member of Elkhart Moose Lodge 599. He served as a board member for the Osolo Township Trustee Board for several years. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving stateside in the years between Korea and Vietnam.

Also surviving are three sons: James M. "Mike" (and spouse Deanna) Eberly, Granger; Michael L. (and spouse Regina) Coryn, South Bend; and Brian A. (and spouse Crystal) Coryn, Elkhart; a daughter, Glynda L. (and spouse Steve) Hunsberger, Elkhart; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, with Pastor Doug Erickson officiating and with military honors by members of Elkhart Disabled American Veterans 13 and the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard. There will be cremation.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
