ELKHART – Jimmie Landon Ferguson, 83, Goshen, passed away  Dec. 4, 2014, in his residence.
He was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Nebo, N.C. to Hardy L. and Beulah (Ashe) Ferguson. He married Kathryn (Newman) Ferguson, who survives.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. He was employed for more than 27 years as a machine tender for Simplex Industries in Constantine, Mich., prior to his retirement. He was an avid gardener, fantastic cook and enjoyed growing his flowers.
Also surviving are his daughter, Deborah Wells, Elkart; two sons, Donald (and spouse Sheila) Ferguson, Bristol, and David (and spouse Susan) Ferguson Sr., Warsaw; three brothers, Harvey (and spouse Kay) Howard Ferguson, and Horace Ferguson, all of North Carolina; three sisters, Louise Pressnell, Doris Ann (and spouse William) Dover and Sue (and spouse Alfred) Kelly, all of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren: Todd, Brittany, Brandon, Timothy, Bryan and Terilyn Welles, Holly Ferguson, Victoria (and spouse Erik) Calero, David Landon Ferguson Jr. and Nicholle (and spouse Kyle) Probst; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by three brothers and four sisters
No public services will be held locally.
Cremation will take place at Altera Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Marion National Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
