She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Goodman, Wis., to Leroy and Flo Deeds Brown. On Oct. 5, 1945, she married Glen C. Hoover, who died Sept. 17, 2006.
She retired from the former Torins, Rochester. She served in the Canadian Women's Army Corp.
Surviving are a daughter, Ethel (and spouse Larry) Wood, Akron; a son, Sidney (and spouse Judy) Hoover, St. Joseph, Mo.; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, two sisters and six brothers.
A private service will be at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Brian Sewell officiating. Burial will be in Deedsville IOOF Cemetery.
