NORTH MANCHESTER – Jerry E. McKee, 67, of North Manchester, died at 12:15 p.m. March 3, 2013, in his residence.
He was born Jan. 20, 1946, in Warsaw, to Jack E. and Jean L. Diehl McKee. On Oct. 11, 1969, he married Donna M. Greiner, who survives.
He was a patrolman for the North Manchester Police Department from 1971-77. He then worked in shipping and receiving and drove a truck for Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, and later retired from the Wabash County Highway Dept. after 31 years. He was a quartermaster 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, serving from 1965-68. He was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1964 and the Fort Wayne Police Academy in 1971. He was a former Boy Scout Master of Troop 465.
Also surviving are two sons, Scott (and spouse Kim) McKee, Muncie, and Mark (and spouse Nicole) McKee, North Manchester; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Kurt Stout officiating. Burial and a committal service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
