Jerome Shepherd, 75, died at 9:59 a.m. Dec. 31, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Jan. 20, 1936, to John Henry and Mary Ousley  Shepherd. On Oct. 2, 1961, in Paintsville, Ky., he married Marilyn J. Fuller, who survives.

Moving to Warsaw from Prestonsburg, Ky., in 1953, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving during peace time. He was plant supervisor at Fairmont Homes, Nappanee, for 16 years, and Damon Corp., Nappanee, for 13 years, retiring in 2006 as plant superintendent. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and his son, Ted; was a coin collector; and was continually remodeling their home. Known by the hat he wore, he was friendly to everyone, was a generous, kind and gentle man and a loving dad, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Also surviving are a son, Ted (and spouse Tina) Fuller, Warsaw; two granddaughters, Jennifer (and spouse Rob) Johnson, Silver Lake, and Stacy (and spouse Adam) Snyder, Warsaw; four great-grandchildren: Briana and Zachery Hall, Tanner Johnson and Baylee Snyder; two sisters, Bess Blue, Warsaw, and Brenda (and spouse Stan) Ratzlaff, Fresno, Calif.; and two  brothers, Raleigh Shepherd, Middlebury, and Carson Shepherd, Claypool. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally and Sadie Shepherd, and a brother, John Shepherd.   

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
