Jeffrey Lynn "Indian" Enyeart, 59, of South Whitley, passed away at 7:06 a.m. Aug. 28, 2009, in his home.

He was born Aug. 30, 1949, in Fort Wayne, to Charles D. and June M. Shultz Enyeart. On June 8, 1992, in Tennessee, he married Bernice Hackworth, who survives.

A lifetime resident of South Whitley, he graduated from South Whitley High School in 1967. For 35 years, he worked at Zimmers, Warsaw, as a factory worker, retiring in April 2008. He was a member of South Whitley Church of the Brethren and Kiwanis Club, and was a volunteer with the Cleveland Township Fire Dept. for 19 years. A former coach with South Whitley Little League, he also played with the South Whitley Men's Basketball Intramural League. In his spare time, he enjoyed local high school sports, traveling, and outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, camping and canoeing.

Also surviving are two daughters, Jacquie (and spouse Matt) Harkness, Silver Lake, and JoEllen (and spouse Randy Sr.) Richardson, Owensboro, Ky.; a son, Jeremy Enyeart, South Whitley; a stepdaughter, Tammy Fisher, Mentone; his mother, June M. Enyeart, South Whitley; a brother, Wendell (and spouse Laura) Enyeart, Larwill; a sister, Alison (and spouse Dave) Mendenhall, Lima, Ohio; grandchildren: Brian Herold, Mentone; Ariel and Zachary Harkness, both of Silver Lake; Ciora Harkness, Chesapeake, Va.; Breanna and Mason Parker and Randy Richardson Jr., all of Owensboro; and a niece, Jayna Enyeart, South Whitley. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Frank and Effie Enyeart and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shultz.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, officiated by Pastor Jim Baughman of Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
