NORTH MANCHESTER - Jeannette Mae Schmalzried Schnepp, 82, of North Manchester, died at 5 a.m. Jan. 2, 2010, in her residence.

She was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Wabash County, to Aaron and Ethel Brunton Schmalzried. On June 26, 1948, in North Manchester, she married Charles Schnepp, who died in October 1996.

She lived her entire life in Wabash County. She was a 1945 graduate of Urbana High School and attended Manchester College. She worked at Manchester College for 23 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Missionary Church, North Manchester.

Surviving are four children, Melinda Schnepp, Christine Johnson and Craig Schnepp, all of North Manchester, and Todd (and spouse Lisa) Schnepp, Andrews; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Kester, North Manchester. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Dan Binkley officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Urbana.

Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
