DEKALB, Ill. – Jeanette M. Brucker Heinisch, 69, died Aug. 19, 2014, at her residence surrounded by family.
She was born Dec. 5, 1944, in Peoria, Ill., to Marion and Dorothy Holmes Rucker. On Feb. 3, 1968, she married Carl J. Heinisch, who survives.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in 1966, she worked with 4-H in St. Charles and then as a home economist with Roper Corp. She taught kindergarten, nutrition, cooking and floral design. She received a master’s degree in management from National College of Education in 1988. After coordinating many conference at NIU, she retired as director of noncredit program for the College of Education at NIU.
She enjoyed her grandchildren most of all, as well as traveling, reading, flower gardening and arranging.
Also surviving are three sons: Doug (and spouse Heidi), Syracuse; Phil, Atlanta, Ga.; Dan (and spouse Kim), DeKalb; seven grandchildren: Brett, Cal, Meg and Cameron, Indiana; and Morgan, Cole and Addison, DeKalb; her brother, Maurice (and Emiko Yank) Brucker, Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Drew Heinisch.
A memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ the Teacher University Parish, 512 Normal Road, DeKalb, Ill., with Fr. Matthew McMorrow officiating. Cremation will be at Finch Crematory, and burial is private and will be at a later date.
Calling is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home, 310 Oak St., DeKalb.
