PIERCETON – JC Napier, 83, of Pierceton, died at 8:15 p.m. June 13, 2013, in his residence. He was born Dec. 5, 1929, in Keokee, Va., to Milton and Beatrice Stewert Napier. On May 29, 1977, in North Judson, he married Kaylene England Johnson, who survives in Pierceton. He was born and raised in Keokee, Va., and then moved to Culver in his late teens. He worked in carpentry and was a specialist at Culver Military Academy, where he retired from and later he also retired from Da-Lite Screen Company, Warsaw. He was a member of Northern Little Dove Church, Pierceton, where he was a clerk for more than 25 years and he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and traveling to see those who were sick and in need of fellowship. JC was well loved by so many people; he loved his family, friends, and church. He loved socializing with those he loved. Also surviving are four daughters: C. Beatrice (and spouse Alan H.) Wentzel, Kewanna; Susan Ruth (and spouse Lannie) Stecher, Nappanee; Cynthia L. (and spouse Neil) Wilkinson, South Whitley; Rita K. (and spouse Robert) Young, Elkhart; three sons: Billy G. (and spouse Phyllis) Napier, Monterey; James G. (and spouse Barbara) Napier, Culver; Greg (and spouse Pam) Johnson, Woodlawn, Tenn.; four sisters: Joan (and spouse Junior) Bush, Keokee, Va.; Ann (and spouse Russell) Bush, Closplint, Ky.; Jean (and late spouse Erle) Collins, Martinsville; Sharon Napier, Keokee, Va.; two brothers, Bill Napier, Detroit, Mich., and Rex Berl (and spouse Brenda) Napier, Eastbank, W.Va.; 20 grandchildren: John David (and spouse Nicole) Wentzel, Stephanie E. (and spouse Mark) Keller, Emily M. (and spouse William) Dilts, Alison E. (and spouse Michael) Sehstedt, Shari (and spouse Edward) Bugayong, Shawn Sterkenson, Billy Napier II, Tyler Napier, Rebecca Stotler, Phillip (and spouse Cristy) Stotler, Paula (and spouse Kyle) Hochstetler, Todd, Neil and Denise Napier, Joshua P. and Caleb Wilkinson, Garrett Johnson, Kaylee (Paige) Johnson, Connor M. Young and Haylee N. Young; 42 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. JC leaves behind many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, George Napier, Janet Kelly, Merle Napier, Ed (Poe), Bob, Evan and Luvella Napier; and a great-grandson, Gunner Johnson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Northern Little Dove Church, Pierceton, with Elders Russell Hicks, Morris Wicker, Estill Hamilton, Harvey Tuttle and Tom Vanzant to lead in prayer.
