Jarrette For Judge

I have spent most of my working life in retail sales, offering merchandise and services to the public. I have done this working in management positions for other employers and as the owner of a small business.
One of the greatest frustrations of retail sales is theft, whether it is by customers, shoplifting or by employees. Any of you who are, or have been, involved in retail sales know the aggravation and personal monetary cost that results from theft. You must constantly be on guard to prevent it, and it siphons off a good percentage of the reward for your hard work. Probably most of the thefts do go undetected and your merchandise simply goes right out the door free to the thieves. But occasionally you are able to catch the thief, and then you have to rely on the police and the courts to do what they can to get your property back, punish the thief and stop it from happening again.
Over the years, I have talked to merchants from other areas, both inside and outside of Indiana, about the problem of retail theft, and have heard all of their stories of repeat offenders, slap-on-the-wrist judges and the worthless system. I enjoy comparing their stories to the system we have here. We have professional and caring police officers and tough no-nonsense courts that do what they are supposed to do to protect us. None of the slap-on-the-wrist stuff here. The local police have told me that most of the shoplifting cases go to Judge Jarrette's court where they are dealt with in such a firm manner that most of the thieves will never think of stealing again and, if they do, they will make sure to do it outside of Kosciusko County.
Among our local police, Judge Jarrette has the reputation of protecting the property of shop owners. He has developed that reputation over the years of his service to our county. Don't believe it, just ask a cop.
Judge Jarrette is running for re-election in the May 6th primary. As retail merchants, we need to support him the same way that he has shown support for us, our businesses and our families over the year.
