She was born Aug. 22, 1938, in Fulton County, to Mac and Jessie Mae Pickens McLean. She was married for more than 20 years to Alton Perry. Then she married Douglas Ginn on June 11, 1983, who died Dec. 7, 1995.
She was retired from Lau Industries, Rochester. She was a secretary for the building inspector in Rochester, and up until her passing, she worked in the Fulton County United Way Office. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1956. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Rochester, and Warsaw Wesleyan Church, where she was very active. She was an advocate for CASA. She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center and antiquing. She collected tea cups, tea pots and angels.
Surviving are a son, Jamie (and spouse Angie) Perry, Mentone; a daughter, Jayne (and spouse Donnie) Kohls, Rochester; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrell (and spouse Margaret) McLean, Schererville; and a sister, Rosanna Smith, Akron. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Perry; a sister, Nina Phelps; and a brother, Lawrence McLean.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with the Rev. L. Andrew Weaver officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
