SYRACUSE – Janice Elaine “Jan” Fackler, 70, Syracuse, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 10, 2014, at her home.
She was born May 19, 1943, in Goshen, to M. Howard and Esther Berniece Fisher Berger, who both preceded her in death. On July 19, 1963, in Nappanee, she married James L. “Jim” Fackler, who survives in Syracuse.
She was a lifetime Nappanee and Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1961 from Nappanee High School. She retired in 2008 from Veada Industries, New Paris, after 34 years of service. She was a member of Bethany Church of the Brethren, New Paris, and a former member of the Church of the Brethren, Syracuse.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Sue (and spouse Randall) Gill, Millersburg; a son, Jeffery Alan (and spouse Lori) Fackler, Penn Run, Pa..; two sisters, Margaret Bell, Matteson, Ill., and Lynn Whittenberger, Kokomo; two brothers, Steve (and spouse Connie) Berger, Wallingford, Vt. and Will Berger, Foreaker; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ann Heckaman.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, with Pastor Tim Sollenberger-Morphew of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, CR 29, Syracuse.
Calling will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
