She was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Chicago, to C. Vance and Blanche Sines Green. On June 3, 1939, she married Robert R. Stump, who died March 10, 1990.
She graduated from the South Whitley High School in 1933 and Manchester College in 1936. After receiving her teaching degree, she taught for three years at Larwill Gade School.
She lived in Lyndon, N.J., later moved to South Holland, Ill., and in 1944, moved to South Whitley. In 1949, she started teaching kindergarten at South Whitley Schools for five years, then moved to Michigan, returning to South Whitley in 1957, continuing her teaching career. She retired in 1983 as a first-grade teacher.
She was a member of Church of God.
Surviving are two sons, David (and spouse Daphne) Stump, Charlotte, N.C., and Jim (and spouse Mary) Stump, North Webster; a daughter, Maryanne (and spouse Rick) Smith, Unionville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Brock, Newland, N.C. She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, with the Rev. Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
