James M. “Shermy” Sherman, 92, Warsaw, died at 2:45 a.m. Aug. 24, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
He was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Sheridan, Pa. On Nov. 25, 1964, in Winchester, Va., he married Louise Jean, who preceded him in death April 14, 1997.
He entered the U.S. Army Oct. 17, 1942, at New Cumberland, Pa., and served during World War II. Cpl. James M. Sherman was honorably discharged Nov. 11, 1945, from Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Pa.
He was a truck driver for 52 years, retiring in 2000 while driving for Woody Everly.
He is survived by two sons, John Sherman, Warsaw, and Jimmy (and spouse Earla) Sherman, Lancaster, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Beverly (and spouse Meredith) Moyer, Warsaw; two stepsons, Jerry (and spouse Joyce) Ostrom, Angola, and Daniel (and spouse Tammy) Minster, Auburn; seven grandchildren: Debbie, Nick, Brittany, Hannah, Cindy, Melonie and Angie; a brother,  Dick Clay, Allentown, Pa.; and his Snicki. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Cody and Stevie Sherman; three great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military graveside honors conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.
Calling will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
