SOUTH WHITLEY - James L. "Jim" Crouch, 69, of South Whitley, died at 12:28 p.m. June 24, 2008, in the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.

He was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Warsaw, to Charles R. and Helen E. Gaskill Crouch. On Nov. 1, 1969, he married Patricia K. Myers, who survives.

He was a Pierceton High School graduate. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked on the railroad and Snell Truck Lines. He retired after 38 years of driving truck, primarily for South Whitley Trucking.

Also surviving are a daughter, Christine Crouch, South Whitley; three granddaughters; a brother, Joe Crouch, Anderson; and a sister, Janet Mishler, Warsaw.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, with the Rev. James Clifford officiating. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
