James Edward Poe, 90, of Warsaw, died at 6:45 p.m. July 11, 2011, in Mason Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.

He was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Grant County, to Alva L. and Catherine Cousins Poe. He married Rosey Lucille Carpenter in 1941, who died in 1982. In 1986, he married Ruby Frazier, who preceded him in death. In 2005, in Warsaw, he married Opal Reynolds, who survives.

A resident of Kosciusko County since 1973, he retired from Choretime-Brock Manufacturing, Milford, and was well known for selling home grown farm produce from his garden.

Also surviving are a son, James L. Poe, Lafayette; six stepsons; three stepdaughters; two sisters, Pauline Holloway, Florida, and Francis Ancil, Fairmount; a brother, Paul Poe, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Glen Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
