PLYMOUTH - James D. Spiegel, 77, of 14617 Lincoln Highway, Plymouth, died at 3:22 a.m. Jan. 8, 2011, in his residence.

He was born April 11, 1933, in Pierceton, to Arthur and Violet Weaver Spiegel. On March 13, 1974, he married Judy Boggs.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Sprint after 39 years. He then started working for Husband Exterminators, then went back to Sprint and worked as a part-time security guard. He was a member of Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos.

Also surviving are six daughters: Helen (and spouse Kenny) Haines, Plymouth; Kathy (and spouse Dan) Anglemyer, Silver Lake; Shana (and spouse Cody) Leed, and Jaime (and spouse Bryan) Hall, all of Argos; Cheryl Fouts, Warsaw; and Kay (and spouse Bill) Kelly, Burket; three sons: Terry Spiegel, Indianapolis; Robert Spiegel, Koontz Lake; and Butch (and spouse Tonya) Boggs, Warsaw; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Larry (and spouse Darlene) Speigle, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Services were Tuesday at Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth. Burial was in Walnut Church Cemetery, Argos, with military graveside honors by members of American Legion Post 27 and Disabled American Veterans.
